Ohana Day 2 posted at 6:07 AM

And knowing your weakness makes you stronger, and kinder.

4th of February, 10 more days to Valentine's and the second day of Orientation. Today, I got closer to the girls in my OG ^^. Got all their names memorised, it's a pity I can't seem to get to know the guys equally well  as well. At least I can match more names to faces I guess.

We started off the day with a talk on the Hwa Chong values. The session was pretty interesting I guess, since I got to know more about Hwa Chong. After that, we had this talk on all the Science Research Programmes followed by a presentation of the disciplinary system of HC. Scary discipline master is scary.

After a near 2 hours break, the O Hunger Games officially started.

The first station was the blind musical chairs. It's just like playing musical chairs, except that you're blindfolded. The cloth given to cover our eyes were translucent though, so we weren't exactly blind. Our OG then for the first time showcased our awesome (but embarrassing) cheer to the "public". It's a good cheer, but most of us can't finish it without laughing.

The second station (WE RAN) was (I forgot the name, so sorry, something about rolling in the deep?). Players had to spin around a stick 5 times, pick up a marble and transfer it to another plate before rolling in soapy water and finally picking up alphabet letters to form words with. It looked fun, but I didn't take part in it since I wasn't confident with the chopsticks. (Am a sore loser and an embarrassment to the Chinese culture. I know.) We formed the word 'timed'. I could think of something better but I decided I should just hide somewhere at the back.

The third station we ran to again was the Captain Sponge station. Our OGL was there and the instructions of the game were given to us. Basically, the game's just like captain's ball. BUT one player was substituted with a pair (a boy and girl pair to be exact). So the boy catches and blocks, while the girl throws. I played in a round for this, but as usual, am very fail with any sports related games.

The fourth station was the Soap Hockey(?). Something like air hockey - the more slippery version.

The fifth station was the Mushroom thing. A modified version of the catching form of Mushroom I used to play in primary school. And you get splashed with water into order to... un-mushroom. Whole back and hair was wet. But, oh well.

The sixth station was the Slippery Slope station ^^. I have nothing to say about the station other than... "If I'm already wet, must as well just get wet thoroughly." and I really got super duper wet. And I really stretched limits this time. Normally, I would have just stayed out of the game.

The last station we strolled to was the Blind Baby Soccer. We would have this 'baby' stand in the center of a circle formed by 14 people and a catcher from the opposing team would try to touch the baby. If the baby got touched, it means that we would have to start all the way from the beginning again. Had most fun at this station. Although I got pushed around a lot heh.

AND THE DAY ENDED WITH AN HOUR OF SODACHE. WHICH I DON'T EVEN WANT TO TALK ABOUT.

Went for OG dinner with the rest after de-brief and went home after walking to Botanic Gardens MRT.

Well, today wasn't as bad as expected. Let's hope tomorrow will be a better day.
